Message If you have a lot of miles the stock valve springs are probably pretty soft. This makes a difference in reliability under high boost levels. If you're going to replace the valve springs you might as well port the heads some(although not needed) since it will be apart.

And then we have steamyz making shitload of power with stock heads etc. I think it will make the power reliably as long as the stock springs are in good shape...which is usually a rare case since most Zs are older with lot of miles. Valve springs are bound to get tired after a while.

: I ask this because I am looking at turbos soon, but when I get the turbos I cant afford much else for a while, so I am curious, If I get TD05's, what do I need to do engine-wise as a neccessity, in terms of cams, valvejob, etc.. to prolong the life of my engine,

:
Ive read that cams that are ground for more duration will make things alot easier on your engine under high boost, so would it be safe to say that they would help prolong the life of your engine?
